"My life was always going to be in jewellery!"

My father was a massive inspiration to me and don't get me wrong, he would have been great at anything in life, he had that natural gift and an ability to positively impact so many people's lives. Certainly a people person! My father had the kindest smile and a truly affectionate laugh... everyone was always at ease when discussing jewellery with him. If I achieve half of what my father offered, I would be a very proud, happy man.

 

Jewellery is a beautiful industry to be in and I have been lucky enough to work in it for over 30 years now. I had the pleasure to work alongside my father in the family business 'Lumbers' for 15 years in Banbury, Oxfordshire. I remember my father telling me that;

"one of the beauties of working in the jewellery industry is that every single day you come to work, you will be seeing and touching something completely and utterly unique... and you will never have a day that was the same as the previous!"

Very true words as I now know that no natural sourced stone will ever be identical to the last.

I learnt so many things under the management team at Lumbers, not just my father. We were blessed to have an amazing married couple who gave 90 years together to the Lumbers' business. They were also a massive contribution to my knowledge today. How could I resist? Learning about diamonds, coloured stones, hallmarking, gold and silver; what a wonderful job!

When my father passed away in 2003 my wife and I decided to take the leap and move to Australia. I secured a incredible position within the house of Cerrone; a jeweller to the stars, family owned and a business which gave me the perfect platform to extend my knowledge, under the master's eye; Nic Cerrone. 

​

Nic was an inspirational Italian who had started working and creating jewellery from his bench and went on to create one of the most successful jewellery businesses in the Southern Hemisphere. I learnt so much more about the vast array of coloured stones; from natural pinks to intense yellow, flawless and simply the most stunning jewellery in the world.

Nic Cerrone was not only fabulous but he gave me invaluable education and passion for the jewellery business.

My wife and I returned to the UK and for the past 12 years have built a close relationship of clients privately within Northamptonshire and further afield, as well as still supplying friends and family in Australia and the Far East.

​

I always knew I wanted to open a retail premises, I wanted something very personal, a special environment somewhere that my clients could relax as soon as they walked through the door. I wanted clients to visit a small boutique in a quiet village location, park outside the front door and shop on their own should they wish (yes, we are able to reserve the shop, entirely for you) - what could be better?

I source diamonds and coloured stones from the leading gem suppliers in the world, gold and silvery jewellery manufacturers in the UK and further afield. All of the pieces in the boutique have been hand-picked to give you, our wonderful clients, the best choice of what you had in mind.

In addition, Infinity Fine Jewellery have a workshop, ran by a wonderful friend, whom is now a leading Goldsmith and has a team who can repair and create stunning handmade custom jewellery. If you can imagine it, we can most likely source it for you.
